Before a Stellar vault can receive USDC, USDT, or another supported token, you must activate its Stellar account and enable the token. These are one-time steps for each vault and token. Complete the setup before sending tokens to the vault. Payments in tokens that haven’t been enabled will fail.

Prerequisites

You’ll need:
  • An API user for your organization.
  • A Stellar vault.
  • XLM to fund the vault, transferred from another vault or an exchange.

Setup overview

Complete these steps in order for each vault.
  1. Fund the vault with XLM. Reserve enough XLM for account activation, token trustlines, and transaction fees.
  2. Activate the Stellar account. The account is created onchain when it receives the required XLM funding.
  3. Enable each token you want to receive. Call the asset activation contract method for each supported token.
XLM is available once the account is active. It doesn’t require token activation.

Step 1: Fund and activate the vault

Fund the vault with enough XLM to cover the account reserve, token reserves, and transaction fees. As a planning estimate, use: 1 XLM + (0.5 XLM × number of tokens) + a buffer For example: These amounts are estimates. Confirm the current reserve requirements before funding.

Step 2: Enable each token

Stellar requires an account to establish a trustline before it can hold a corresponding token. In PrimeVault, enable each token using the asset activation contract call. Repeat this step for every token the vault needs to receive. For example, enable USDC and USDT separately before receiving either asset. Important: Enable the token before sending it to the vault. Payments in tokens without an established trustline will fail.

XLM reserve requirements

The following estimates apply to the vault’s minimum reserve: Keep an additional buffer to cover transaction fees and any changes in network requirements.

Before sending tokens

Verify that:
  • The Stellar account has been activated.
  • The required token has been enabled.
  • The vault has sufficient XLM to cover its reserve requirements and transaction fees.
Once these checks are complete, the vault is ready to receive the enabled tokens.
