# Policy Engine

**PrimeVault's Policy Engine** is a configurable rules framework that governs every transaction initiated across your vaults. It is one of the most **granular transaction governance systems** available and is purpose built for institutional stablecoin operations.

Teams can define precisely who can create and approve transactions, under what conditions, and within what limits, before any funds move. This extends beyond simple transfer rules: the Policy Engine supports highly flexible configuration for DeFi contract calls and specific function-level controls, as well as allowlisting of dApps within your ecosystem, giving institutions the same rigorous governance over onchain interactions as they have over traditional transfers.

Rules are evaluated in real-time. If a transaction does not match any valid policy, it is blocked automatically. This provides a **proactive, enforceable layer of control** on top of your wallet infrastructure.
