# Limit which assets a contact can receive

You can restrict each external contact to a specific list of assets. This helps prevent mistakes (such as sending the wrong token to an address) and adds an extra layer of risk control on top of vault-level policies.

When you set an asset list, **only those tokens will be allowed** for transfers to that contact.

### Create a contact with a restricted asset list

1. Go to **Address Book → Contacts**.
2. Click **Add New Contact** in the top-right corner.
3. In the **Add New Contact** panel, fill in:
   * **Contact Name**
   * **Address**
   * **Chain**

4. In the **Asset** field:
   * Click the dropdown to open the asset picker.
   * Search or scroll to find the assets you want this contact to receive (for example, **USDT** and **USDC**).
   * Select one or more assets. They’ll appear as chips under the field.
5. Click **Next** and complete the remaining steps to save the contact.

From now on, any transaction sent to this contact is checked against the asset list:

* If the asset **is on the list**, the transaction can proceed (subject to policies and approvals).
* If the asset **is not on the list**, the transaction will be blocked, and you’ll see an error that this asset is not permitted for that contact.

### Edit the asset list for an existing contact

1. Go to **Address Book → Contacts**.
2. Click on the contact you want to edit.
3. In the contact drawer, update the **Asset** field:
   * Add or remove tokens as needed.
4. Save your changes.

The new asset list applies immediately to all future transactions involving that contact.
